iShot is a camera app for recording videos and taking photos. This policy explains what the app does with information on your phone.
The short version
- iShot has no internet access: the app does not request Android's
INTERNETpermission, so it cannot send anything anywhere. - There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your photos, videos and settings stay on your phone.
Camera and microphone
iShot asks for the camera and the microphone so it can show the preview, take photos and record videos with sound. Sound is cleaned (noise suppression) on your phone while you record. Nothing is uploaded or analysed anywhere else.
In Video mode the microphone runs before you record only when the level meter is shown (Settings → Show level meter) or the teleprompter follows your voice, and it stops as soon as the app goes to the background. With the teleprompter's Follow my voice on, the script moves while you speak: iShot only checks, on your phone, whether the sound is speech; nothing is recorded or kept for it.
Faces
When you turn on Beautify, iShot uses your phone camera's built-in face detection to find where faces are in the picture, so it softens skin only on faces. This happens on your phone, frame by frame; iShot does not identify anyone, does not keep face positions or any face data, and nothing about faces is saved, sent or shared. Filters, styles and Beautify are applied to your photos and videos on your phone.
Photos and videos
What you capture is saved to your phone's shared storage (DCIM/iShot), where your gallery app and other apps you allow can see it, like photos from any camera. iShot does not ask for permission to read your other photos; it shows only its own captures. Deleting a capture from iShot asks Android to delete it.
Photos you take with the optional Portrait mode are processed on your phone to blur the background.
Settings and scripts
Your settings (format, voice preset, grid, glass intensity and so on) and teleprompter scripts are stored privately in the app on your phone. They are removed when you uninstall iShot or clear its data.
Device report (only when you choose to share it)
Settings → Support → Share device report creates a small text report about your phone's camera and video capabilities, the settings iShot chose for it, and how your last recordings went (for example, whether the phone got too hot). It contains no photos, videos, audio, names, contacts, locations or advertising identifiers — only the phone model and technical values. It is shared only when you tap the button, and only through Android's share sheet to the app and person you pick (for example, an email to the developer). iShot does not send it by itself.
Feedback (only when you choose to send it)
Settings → Support → Send feedback fills in an email in your own email app: your message, the kind of feedback, the part of the app and the rating you chose, iShot's version, your phone model and Android version, and — if you leave it on — the device report above. Nothing is sent until you send that email yourself. We receive it like any email (with the address you send it from) and use it only to answer you and improve iShot.
Children
iShot is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
This policy is also at https://ishotcamera.com/privacy. If it changes, the new version will be posted there and in the app, with a new date.
